Welcome to my website. My name is Hannah Merson and I am a professional artist specialising in Pet portraits( www.hannahmersonartist.com  ).

For a number of years I've been wanting to explore the world of 'Plein Air' painting (which simply means - painting on location). So I've set myself a challenge to complete a hundred 6 x 8 inch oil paintings and to show every single one of those on this site, good and bad!

I haven't used oils since I was in school (all my pet portraits are completed in pastel), so this will be a steep learning curve! I'm hoping that this website will encourage me to keep going and help me see the improvement I'm making. Maybe it will even encourage someone else to pick up the brushes.
